Odds are an upcoming book by custom motorcycle builder Jesse James won’t be a ‘how-to’ with hints on customizing a bikers ride
Reportedly Jesse James has signed a deal for a tell-all book tentatively titled “American Outlaw,” that will be released later this year.
James, who rose to fame with West Coast Choppers and his custom motorcycle creations, has enjoyed the role of misunderstood rebel.
But his life and essentially the bike builders character were put on center stage in early 2010 when his five-year marriage to Bullock ended days after the popular actress won a best actress Oscar in March 2010 for ‘The Blind Side.’
His public image suffered not only from the alleged infidelities while married to Bullock, considered America’s sweetheart but the number of women involved and their own colorful nature and past.
The most famous mistress was Tattoo model Michelle McGee with some media outlets reported as many as eleven other women were involved with the owner of West Coast Choppers during his 5 year marriage to Bullock.
It was a year that tested the loyalty of the strong fan base Jesse James had built up over years of hard work. Starting with his bike-building specials to the frequent visits to American Troops serving in war zones as well as numerous non-motorcycle related television appearances, James has become arguably the most famous face from the riding community.
With a sign that his world was returning to normal, at least as far as James is concerned, he announced his engagement to tattoo artist and reality star Kat Von D. The two have been reportedly been dating since last summer.
Now the famous face that has customized anything with wheels, faced Donald Trump in Celebrity Apprentice and defied death in his own television series is taking to the keyboard to pen a book for Simon & Schuster’s Gallery Books imprint.
News reports have described the book as a memoir and a spokeswoman for Gallery Books would not comment on what the deal was worth.
And contrary to what the public may feel, last year was a good one for James.
“2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs,” James, 41, told People magazine in January.
